Are you looking for a fresh way to excite your students about your content? Do you have students who learn best when they are moving or who love being outside? Come to this session to learn about the many ways that you can engage your students in your content in a natural setting or through nature activities and topics. Recent research has found surprising ways that classes held outside or engaged in the study of nature have decreased student’s anxiety, led to better emotional health and increased ability to focus on their work. In this session we will examine the benefits of time spent with your classes outside and ways that nature can become the catalyst for your students to improve their understanding of concepts covered in your classes, as well as provide real world applications of concepts covered in every subject. We will explore many practical ways that you can use nature to enhance your lessons.
